I would go berserk if my LL opened my fridge or oven (and not because they are not spotless)

Trust me - I'll be tempted.

The other half suggested I went out later when she comes over to do it, but I want to be here. I'm not hiding from her.

I'm with you on the OCD - my mum got campylabacter when I was 13,

    That's pretty nasty!

No, she can't move the furniture around without very very good reason (I'm struggling to think of a good enough reason). This is particularly true if the property is unfurnished and the furniture belongs to you!!

I know how you feel about being desperate to move out. I only lived in my previous property for 4 months (got out of the contract early) and I was desperate to move by the end. We had no trouble with the landlord but it was in a horrible, noisy location and we had really scuzzy neighbours!

Just want to say good luck with the landlord tonight! Its hard to say things like 'I need that in writing' and 'your son can not come into my property' when someone is standing at your front door, but you will feel so much better if you do! Go on- giver her what for!!!

I'm going to be lenient tonight and let her bring her son in - I've got exams next week and two pieces of coursework due in on Friday, so I can do without the aggro to be honest. But for future reference she won't be able to bring him in.

The other half is dealing with her, so I told him his mantra is "can we have that in writing please?"

Most of the furniture in here belongs to her, more's the pity.

We've got til september left here, but if we can move by july, we will. The other half has a load of debt and may well have to declare bankruptcy before long, which may mean she'll want us out anyway. In which case, two month's notice, thanks very much!

I'm sure there are some lovely LL's out there, but I seem to have a knack of picking properties with the awful ones!

Thanks for the well wishes
