Just about to buy a plasma TV, but wanted to know if they still got very hot like they did when they first came out.
ANy input into buying a plasma will be very much apreciated.
I am currently not going to get HD. as this is about another £500. Something not viable at this time. Will I regret it?
Thanks

LBM 12.09.12 - £53K in debt.
DFD - 11.07.2019 (OMG).
New DFD is 28.10.2018 due to paying the absolute maximum.
Thanks to everyone on the DMP forum, and to SC for helping me out of this huge hole.

Dont buy one!
LCDs have a longer design life, so should be a better choice unless you are desperate for a 42" screen.
And yes plasmas do get hot and also weigh a ton.
Someone elsewhere has posted about a nice HD ready 32" Samsung LCD for under £700.
Also while you may not wish to go for Sky HD when its launched later this year you can already get DVD players which upgrade standard DVDs to the HD format that give an improved picture.
O yes and I would always go for a set with a digital tuner (freeview). That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Is the picture quality up to CRTs yet? I know which? mag only found 1 best buy LCD when lumped together with crts. Maybe best to wait 6/12 moths for prices to fall & quality to improve.Nice to save.0
