Hi bought dd a dvd player/tv for her b-day and it has packed up already-no sound or picture. I rung pixmania who have given me a sigmatek no to ring and he seems to not want to answer my calls or ring back..
Can someone please help with getting it sorted as don't know what to do or who to ring.

TEST: why cannot i see my posts?
  • I've bought a couple of things from Pixmania which have gone wrong - don't get me wrong, I've bought other stuff which has been fine from them, but the way they deal with problems is not great. In the first case, they asked me to deal with the manufacturer, which strictly speaking is not correct. However, the manufacturer was happy to fix it, so that was fine. In the second case, the manufacturer just referred me back to where I bought it, as it is their responsibility. I asked Pixmania to give me a refund, and they fobbed me of in a few telephone calls and emails. Eventually I sent an email saying it was their responsibility and if I didn't hear from them within 28 days then I would take it to the Small Claims court. They didn't get in touch, but they did credit my account with the amount in question immediately, and I bought a replacement.

I think the problem is because they are based in France. At one point, they were suggesting that I send the item back to France to be assessed, then they would send it to the repairer in the UK, then it would go the reverse route to get back to me, and would therefore take quite a while to fix. However, if you're clear about your rights and what you want and are persistent, you should be okay.

Samrtpicture thanks for the reply, what do you suggest i do now..so far i have:

Rung pixmania been on hold forever and been told to ring sigmatek
Rung sigmatek roughly 8 times and left messages..nothing
Emailed sigmatek twice and had error reprts back saying unable to send

Should i ring tommorow and ask for a refund..would i get one? They are saying i have to send it back to frnace like you said which i am not happy about tbh.

    - in the biggest term possible

its amazig that they manage to stay trading for so long

Possibly that uk has better trading laws than europe ?

If you look on the net you will see thousands of complaints about their crap customer services

as has been mentioned by another poster send a letter stating that you will issue small claims court proceedings if payment is not forthcoming within the nbext 7 days
