I got a Debenhams credit card in the sales to get an extra 20% off sale prices.IT also had 0% interest free on transfers for 6 months...
When I called to transfer, I gave all the details and, before proceeding, was asked "Do I agree to the terms and conditions" - one of which was you would have to pay interest on purchaces until the whole amount is paid off (standard on some cards I know...). So I declined and said I do not agree and left it there thinking I would pay off purchases immidiately and then transfer...
A week later a leter arrived saying the transfer had gone through! I phoned them up, livid they had done it even tho I didnt agree to t&c's. They apologised and said they would undo the transfer...
2 weeks later I got the bill from them and it had the transfer on it + interest! I called a 3rd time and was told "we can not undo balance transfers when they have been approved - you have to take it up with your other card provider...".
I asked why they had told me they would undo it and charged me interest, he said "I don't know sir...".
When I asked to talk to a manager they said - this is a quote - "You can not talk to a manger sir - they are just here to manage not talk to customers. That is our job" .
I asked to put it as a formal complaint to which I was told to write to them... no email or anything! All the call centres are in India...
So 3 calls later I still have the money on the card (I will transfer back a.s.a.p) and am worse off... (not 20% worse off that I saved in the sales thankfully but still).
Had to get this off my chest...

Glad you have got it off your chest, I would be livid too!
Have you contacted your other card provider to see if they will do anything about it - ie sweet talk them and tell them how debenhams made such a hash up?! You can only try!Weight Loss - 102lb0 -

I do like to hear these "funny" little statements that some customer services agents come out with...!!
That sounds like a nightmare, Babbler, I don't blame you for being irate!"Part P" is not, and has never been, an accredited electrical qualification. It is a Building Regulation. No one can be "Part P qualified."

Should get a lloyds TSB card in the post soon though and that has 9 months interest free I think. 6 at least. So will sort it all out then and write a nice letter to LG Finance...Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
