Credit Card Protection

I am due to renew my card protection, for lost, stolen etc. plus keys cover. It will cost £70 for 3 years. Is this a good deal? Do I need it? It is with Barclaycard's Sentinal Gold and covers mine and my husband's cards and important keys.

    Waste of money IMO
Why don't you take some precautions yourself and no (or little cost).

    1) Reduce the number of cards you have, close down any unused ones.
    2) Only carry what you need in your wallet - for example generally you don't need to carry your driving licence and it's an id theft risk.
    3) Look after your handbag always - either have it wrapped round a chair leg or buy one of those hooks so you hang it on a table. Don't leave it in your shopping trolley.
    4) Put unused cards and jewelry in a safe (we got one from screwfix direct and bolted it to our house in a hidden location).
  • Thanks lisyloo, some good points to consider.

  • just make sure to never leave your belongings in a bag in your car because bag thefts from cars are on the increase and are much more likely to happen than your bag being snatched on the street
this article tells you all about it and also gives some insurance quotes for personal belongings
