Can Swinton Do This?

My final thoughts on this one are that the devil is in the detail when going online. However,Swinton's T&C clearly states service fees 'new policy incepted via our website (if quoted on our website and then incepted via phone or the branch the service charge will be £15)...for cancellation of policies it is £45. My earlier post shows that they cannot charge anything becuase the policy cannot be incepted immediatley without the customers prior consent before they recieve the written T&C. These are clearly not advice fees or similar since no other advice was given - they are only to do with the production of policy documents,my contention is that the policy was not incepted, so there should not be an associated charge. If I was you Celtic I would still complain over this. At the very least, the charge should be £10 NOT the £45 they have told you.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Just to let everyone know that Swinton voluntarily refunded the £25 fee without my having to contact them about it all. They simply sent me a letter in the post, a few days after the initial letter, saying that it had been refunded. The whole experience has taught me a lesson but, thankfully, without any financial damage. All credit to Swinton for not taking advantage, they have been very fair and I will probably use them again in the future now.0

Ahhh, the pitfalls of the cashback on financial sales.
Shame that things like this dont get pointed out by those that promote such activity.
Good to see you got your money back, next time you will read it all
