Sale item no longer avaialble despite me ordering boxing day are argos playing games?

went to argos on boxing day to order a diamond ring which was half price in the sales. Was told that as it was not in stock I would need to wait two weeks for one to come from the warehouse. I rang today to find out where my ring was and was told the warehouse no lomger have them and that my best bet would be to wait and see if they will have them in the new catalogue!!! The thing is that this ring was over 300 quid full price and is now been reduced to 150 until the 16th. If I buy after the 16 they will want me to pay the full price. How the hell can this be fare, any suggestions as to what i can do abou it

Have you checked on their site to see if any other stores have the ring?

Maybe post the product code to see if anyone can help search their local stores for you

you cant check for the rings on site for some reason.. however, when i was in the shop i did ask them to check for availability in other stores....they said there werent any!!!!

Ah right, it says not available for home delivery and cannot be reserved for store pick up.

That means they are completely out of stock, so looks like you won't be getting it at that price I'm afraid ~ God knows why they can't take it down from the site though.

Hey hun,
When we take orders for rings, we don't find out whether they're unavailable until we are contacted by the warehouse (which can take a couple of weeks). Phoning customers to tell them that their ring is unobtainable is one of my most cringeworthy jobs
Unfortunately the internet doesn't have the ability to search for sizes, which is why you can't reserve/search for rings in various stores.
It sounds to me like the ring may not be in the next catalogue, although if that were the case then it would say on the till screen that orders should no longer be placed. If you phone and ask a store they should be able to tell you whether it's going RO (unfortunately I'm not in until Sunday - I would've had a look for you otherwise!)
If it's not going RO then it's worth placing another order for it, and asking them to confirm that the price will be at the discounted rate. If they confirm this now and write it on your order, you may find that it comes back into the warehouse for the catalogue launch and you could have it at the reduced rate...
