Do you have a little Italian Restaurant local to you.. they make either block cakes or tiered wedding cakes.. ive just ordered a 3 tier wedding cake in a fantastic chocolate swirl design for £135! thats with the stand included to..all decorated... try and find one.0

Another option look up cake makers in the phone book. For my wedding in someserset I had a lovely chocolate iced slab cake for 150 people for £60.
I had it decorated to a set design- I wanted it to look like a book but it was stunning and tasted delicious and was a bargain too!0 -

In the US / Canada they line up a batch of muffns into the required shape and smother with icing, decorations etc. When the cake is "cut" everyone gets a muffin to take away with them. That has got to be the most cost- and time-effective mass cake production method.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

hav u tired just gooing to your local bake and asking them to make plain cakes, i did this for my birtdahy, i got a 10nch fruit cake, jsut plain white iced, for 22, and a 8inch sponge plain white iced for 7.50 and i stuck tehm on top of each other..."Lifes a climb - but the view up in fantastic"
