Charges for landline calls diverted to a mobile

Hi Guys,

I have just read through Martins weekly news letter and noticed the article on how cheap calls can be with Primus and 1899. I will certainly be signing up for the Primus deal (especially for free). I use BT for my landline, but because we both have contract mobile with tons of minutes we rarely use the landline for outgoing calls.

However, my partner runs a part time business for approx 5 months of the year and he relies on calls being diverted from the landline to his mobile and its not exactly the cheapest.

Does anyone know of a way to get cheaper calls diverted from the landline?

I know BT launched something a while ago but because he was wrapping the business up for the year and it would have cost us we never bothered with it.

I would be really grateful, if anyone could help.

Many thanks and happy money saving.

Apparently, if you have TalkTalk and TalkTalk Mobile you can have free calls between landline and mobile. Therefore your diverted calls from landline to mobile would be free, as I see it.

To reduce the cost of your calls from BT to a Mobile.

Apply for the BT call mobile option (FREE for 3 months then £1.50p) see http://www2.bt.com/static/i/btretail/consumer/callmobile/

Then nominate the mobile number in question as your F&F best friend and the cost of calls diverted to this number will be reduced by 40%.

Your BT CallMobile 25% discount is applied to the total you spend on calls to mobiles. Your Friends & Family saving is then applied to this discounted amount. This means that for mobile numbers in your Friends & Family list you will receive 32.5% discount. For calls to a mobile number that is your BestFriend you will receive 40% discount"

  • Or use 1899 for 10p per minute weekdays, 3p per minute weekends.

You cant divert your calls through short code cheap providers like 1899,18866,etc.

If you could do this https://www.18185.co.uk 5p a min weekdays, and 2p at weekends(4p connection) would be a better bet.
