L&V offered me about £560 and £50 compensation, but from working it out the way Martin Lewis said, I should be owed double that!
My question is, if I was to write the second letter saying i want X amount and they denied it, would I still be entitled to the amount they originally offered?
Thanks

Hi there
Did they admit to the mis selling ?
Or was it a goodwill offer hun?
If this was mis sold, this should be put back right as if you did not have the PPI to start with plus interest.
I would write to them as soon as possible, because I think it was 14 days they gave me to reply about my offer with LV, so write to them and ask them to send you a written form of calculations, you want to see these for yourself, if your not happy you should be entitled to complain to the Financial ombudsman service. You could try emailing them in hope they respond to this, or do both just in case.;)
Is this still active or settled?
There is also a PPI reclaiming -Discussion thread if you want any further help with this, where myself and others on the forum will be able to help where we can.;)

They have admitted to mis-selling the product. They said my complaint was 'justified' and 'therefore I am upholding your complaint'. I am thinking of asking for £900 - I would be happy with that.
What will happen if they deny it, will I be able to just say OK I will have what you originally offered?
Thanks0 -
Also, it says in their letter 'This is our final response letter'.
Does this mean I will not get a reply?0 -

Hi there hunni
They should actually refund you the full amount plus interest on your PPI, as they have admitted its mis sold.
If this amount of £900 is what is should be, does that also include the interest hun?
Now if they state that is their final response, what that normally means is they will no longer reply to any other letters (complaints on this issue) you may send, however, if you do not agree, you should be given the option of taking this to the Financial ombudsman service for them to investigate, but please be warned this can be a long process due to the large amount of complaint they are dealing with in this issue right now.
Did they add a leaflet in with the letter they sent you hunni?
If your not happy with the amount they offered you, to be honest its a few hundred difference and they should really refund you the whole amount plus interest.
I would make sure first you have the option of the FOS before turning the offer down.
Let us know as soon as you can hun if there was a FOS leaflet enclosed with the letter, if you decide to want to take it that direction we can help guide you, other than that, if that is the final response with no option of taking this to the FOS, it may be best to accept that amount.
When did you take out this loan (year) and is this settled (paid off)?
Cheers hun.;)

Im a dummy! I read my letter wrong, they have refunded all of my payments! Also, what I was doing was working out how much I would have paid over the whole term but I have only had it for 2 and a half years  silly me!
So, the amount they are offering is correct, along with £55 compensation so I am chuffed.
I also came home today and had a letter from HSBC offering me a full refund of £441. BRILLIANT
So.... Thank you so much to Martin and his team, this is great. :money: xxx0
