My lord, how much did that much decking cost?

I like the structured ness of it, although it's not my type of garden. It looks like a ground force type production, you can take that as a compliment :)

I can't see the fruit bushes anywhere though ;) shame to have all that space and not grow anything you can eat.

That because they are not in yet Lotus, they are sitting in my outhouse, they will go along the fence area. Can't wait, that is my job for this weekend hopefully (kids parties to fit in too *tut*).

I'll pm you about the decking!

    Yey, it's finished!!

Got to clean the ponds out and get some plants in this weekend then it'll be time to sit back and enjoy it. We will get the bottom half of the garden done later when we have the money. Thanks for all of your suggestions, now got to get some of them into the garden. I cannot wait.

Hi Blue Monkey, your garden looks fantastic! just being nosey but what size is your garden? You have really inspired us to do a 'make-over', think we need to start saving some pennies!!!!!!

Same here, looks really nice, well structured too. but how much was the decking?

I think I need about the same amount, just to give me an idea...
Remember the time he ate my goldfish? And you lied and said I never had goldfish. Then why did I have the bowl Bart? Why did I have the bowl?

    Hi again,

We put some plants in this weekend, I forgot how hard gardening was - we ache all over today, LOL. Lots of plants gone in though, now we'll have to wait and see what comes up!

The decking bridge and ballustrade, including all labour and materials was just uner £1800, the garden, prep and laying of slabs and turf was £2350 and we paid just over £1150 for the slabs. It was alot of saving but it was worth it and the kids had a great time this weekend playing out there almost all day and on Saturday they were still outside playing the dark. They cried when they had to come in!! It was the same price as a nice holiday but we much preferred getting the garden done! Get quotes and ask to see pictures if you have people come around. One person quoted us 14k.... without slabs!!

I cleared the smaller pond this weekend and found 2 newts and some frogs - we have two pairs waiting to spawn that I have found, the fish have grown big so we are excited about getting them into their new home soon. Hubby is just sealing the edge of the pond, was going to finish that tonight but now it's raining so I think it'll have to wait til tomorrow.

I also put the bird feeding station in and we had some birds down this morning so that was nice. The kids have binoculars to see them with.

The garden is 50m - we have done 20m so far and will save some more to get the rest done but it'll just be levelled and turfed to get it flat and nice for the kids to play on. That is all we want really, somewhere nice for the kids to play but for the wildlife to also have a home too.
