Screen on powwer saving mode help!

My office computer screen has gone on to power saving mode, the screen is black, but the light is showing amber.

As a result I cannot use the machine.

I have turned everything off and back on the same thing happens, I have pushed all the plugs in.

I went out today and bought a new screen, and in my mind it was / is the screen that is broken.

However the new screen is doing the same thing and also saying no signal.

So any ideas please as to what is the problem is / and or what can I do.

Please note I am at home now, so anything / suggestions will be carried out tomorrow morning.

How long is a piece of string? It could be the graphics card, it could be the CPU that overheated because the cooling fan failed...could be a whole host of things.

Take it to someone who repairs them. In the long run, it'll be quicker and cheaper than going through an endless list of stabs in the dark suggested on a forum.

Turn on the PC and give it a couple of minutes to start up even if it doesn't appear to be doing anything, hold in the power button on the PC for about 30 seconds (even after it looks like it's turned off). Wait a minute or so then turn it back on and see what happens. Sometimes the PC goes into suspend mode and doesn't come back out correctly which can cause a black screen and an orange light. That's the best place to start - let us know how it goes.
