Quote for small wall and window blocking

Hello, I'm trying to renovate my 1950 semi, I've had a quote to remove & block up an upstairs window (removing the cill and keeping it intact to reuse in a possible future extension) and also to build a small (2meter roughly) internal wall with a doorway.
I've had two quotes so far,
One for £530 - with the wall been build from block/brick (my preference)
and one for £400 been built in stud wall (obviously I mean the internal wall!)
Are these fair please? thanks
oh yes, one other thing - how much for new facias, soffits and guttering? (its a ex council semi - roughly 7m by 7m), i've been quoted 1200-1500? in golden oak upvc.

Your quotes don't sound unreasonable.
If you are considering building the internal wall from block or brick you will need to make sure that they have allowed for an adequate foundation.
With regards to uPVC facias & soffits, we charge £50 per linear metre which includes full replacement (not cover strip nailed over the existing timber) and gutters. So you could use that to give you an idea.
Hope this helps0 -
Thanks for the reply.
Its a concrete floor and there had been a wall there in the past so it should be ok, but will do some checking (its something I hadn't considered).
I'm hoping to do some ringing around for quotes for the gutting etc, so will keep the prices you've mentioned in mind :beer:0
