I'm going travelling for six weeks next month and am looking for the best rate credit card for purchases whilst I'm away. Can anyone advise on the best option?

Nationwide don't charge commission on overseas purchases, so is a popular choice for using abroad. If you're not concerned about this, then just look for any card offering 0% on purchases.0

You have Post Office and Nationwide which come with fee-free foreign transactions and 0% on purchases for 3 months. There is also Abbey Zero which you apply for in branch and comes with 6 months 0% on purchases.0
