Combi Boiler Fix and Power Flush Quote
Biggie
On our valiant turbomax combi boiler h\w no longer works I have been told the diaphragm (Rubber washer) needs to be replaced we had the same problem about 2 years ago, I have been advised to also have a power flush to prevent it from happening again. I have been quoted the following:-
Diaphragm Change = £70
Power flush = £220
Gas Safety Certificate = £50
Do these sound reasonable ?
btw this is in London

Powerflush - good price is normally £250-£300 BG charge £700
Gas Safefty - good price is normally £60 (many charge £75)
Don't know about the part change - seems reasonable as well, especially if the plumber is good. Which part of London?0 -

Thanks that's pretty much the conclusion I came to.
Last time I got ripped off with the part change about 2 years ago and the plumber charged me £180 so I guess this is also a good price.
Now i'm just wondering if a power flush is really needed and why ?
Seems to be alot of dosh just to clean out the system isn't there a simpler and cheaper way.0 -
Only yesterday I was quoted £330 for just the power flush on a combi boiler.
Just outside London, near M25 so it seems a good price to me.0 -
Let me know if this plumber is any good! I am in London too

Hi ian and welcome, i am a bg engineer and if our engineer has told you your system needs flushing he really should of shown you some evidence, in the form of a water sample. If you have any queries ring back and ask for another engineer for a second oppinion!:cool:0 -

Why do you need a safety cert? I do on a property I rent out, but not one I live in myself.0
