You made a verball agreement with the ex that you would not pay and have no contact. Any verbal agreement made with an ex needs to be made in writing and witnessed or something because it wil come back and bite you on thearse.

Out ofinterest why did you agree to that, didnt you want arelationship with your daughter?

I really don't think that is anyone's business but the OP, and certainly not relevant at all

It certainly isn't your business...or mine!

Hi, I have just recieved a letter saying i owe over 55 thousand pounds in child support. This is the first time i have received a letter from the CSA. They said they tried contacting me in 1996 when the claim was first made by an ex. My daughter turns 16 in a few months, I know i will have to start making payments but will not be able to pay this back for a very long time. Will i still have to pay this after she turns 16? Please help!

Probably the amount I`m owed for 4 children. I have never come across such a useless organisation. After spending 2 years ringing them every Friday I gave up in 2000. My children aren`t going to starve but I would have had a nervous breakdown and fit for nothing had I persisted in trying to get some money via them for my children. I have a 16 and a 8 year old that are still eligible for maintenance. They should never have taken it over from the courts. I would be quite happy with £5 per week for each child. At least that would have kept them in school shoes.
