Clothes on ebay - best time?

I have a LOT of clothes to sell on ebay. 3/4 boxes to be precise, however I am just wondering, between now and the next month or two, when would be the best time to put my items up i.e when I could get the most money for it/have the most interest?
Hoping someone can help me out, as I desperately need to rake some money in!
Thanks v much.

Are they high street or designer, are they used or new with labels?
Clothes can go for pennies on ebay so firstly do some research and check out completed listings for label names and styles. Then decide whether to list each item singally or whether it looks best to go for selling bundles of clothes.
Show a good clear photo when you do sell, describe any problems even minor ones and mention label names, even if (or especialy if ) they are high street only.
It is best though to make sure there is money in them, ebay can be costly once you build in listing fees, final value fees and paypal fees and looking generally at used clothing it really doesn't seem to go very well.
Lastly put the clothes, plus all the packaging on scales and set your postage rates accurately, you don't want any nasty shocks when you get to the post office.
As a guide it was mentioned on here some months back that including post and packing most people will expect to pay around 10-20% of the new price for used clothes. So a £50 dress will probably go for around a £3 with £2 p and p. Some makes are better though, Monsoon seems to go well as does some of the limited edition stuff from Top Shop or M and S. I once sold a £60 M and S dress worn once to a wedding by my mum, for £36 which I was really chuffed with. However at virtually the same time I sold a brand new Wallis skirt suit with fitted jacket that had a label price of £98 if I remember correctly, and it went for about £11 which was a bit of a shock.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi there,
I have sold alot on ebay as I use to do this part time commission based.
I would say that it is the designer things people tend to want more ie, Karen Millen, Coast and such like.
There can be quite a bit of money to be made at car boot sales with clothing depending on the area- just throw it on a clothes rack at eg £2/3/4/5 each!!
Also, if you have any bric a brac, wierd things! and also scrap gold(even totally broken) expect at least £4.50 per gram as the gold market is very good at the moment.
Dont know if this helps you out?;)Virgin card-0/1440:j

I have beaten my target on the ebay challenge but I am going to keep on going and clear these debts;)0 -
Coats are going like wildfire on Ebay at the moment, if that helps. It must be the cold weather! I have bid on several, and every time they've rocketed up in price at the end of the auction and I miss out!
I got a friedn of mine to list some coats she had, and they all sold really well - loads of interest, lots of bids etc.
So if any of your clothes for selling are coats or warm jackets, I'd sey get them listed soon.

I sell clothes often on ebay, just ones I've never worn or don't wear anymore. I find that River Island and Topshop jeans go very well.0

nothing to do with timing, but try the auctiva type listing sites as they allow you to schedule times, use fancy fonts and templates and add loads of photos all for free.Div 1 Play Off Winners 2007

I also find that having the listing ending on a weekend, afternoons or evenings, works best for me. I guess most people are online then and look at the ones ending soonest.0

Hi
I sell all our clutter and out grown clothes (mostly kids next clothes) aand other bits if i find them cheap enough and def find items ending on a sat morning (9.30 am - 11am) is when i get the best prices for them. I avoid week day mornings.
I am finding tho at the mo its quiet on ebay with clothing unless its Girls next clothes that seem to sell all the time.Member of Thrifty Gifty ~ Making money for Christmas 2010:£2 Savers club member no 40 ~ £54Amazon Vouchers BingoPort ~ £10Dooyoo Challenge Jan ~ £24.07 / £20.00 Yippee over target :j0 -
I've sold some of my daughter's clothes recently (used Boden, Next etc) and haven't found they've sold for much more than a couple of quid or so ... did once sell a Boden ladies moleskin coat, which I'd worn quite a lot -- and it went for nearly £50 quid! Have another Boden spring patterned mac to sell (as new cond) but am thinking I should wait till it gets a bit warmer?0

I have sold many clothing items on ebay. I agree with the posts above it is label stuff that sells the best. I got £15 for a karen millen top which was almost the price I had paid for it the year earlier in the sale. Other stuff (supermarket stuff esp.) doesn't seem to fetch much. However, I have seen primark stuff sell for a fair price if it is still quite fashionable. I always end stuff on a sunday tea time. If i'm looking to buy (ie for bargains!) I always look first thing monday morning- so I wouldn't list then.0

i've bought a fair bit of clothes on ebay and all i can say is make sure the pictures are clear - theres nothing more irritating that not being able to see a top clearly if it has any features like lace or sequins etc on it0
