Can you recommend an all in one printer?

Just wondering if anybody can recommend an all-in-one printer ie scanner, printer, photocopier ? there are so many and i'm not sure which is best? Under £40 really and replacement inks not too expensive.. Or are there any brands to avoid?????
Anybody had any luck, finding good offers at the moment?
Thanks for your help

We have a Brother all in one and its brilliant. I have no idea of the cost of them these days but I do know that the inks hubby buys from ebay work out at £1 per cartridge.

Yes - Lexmark. They may be cheap to buy initially, but their ink costs are astronomical. Personal experience of using non-original inks in them is that they often don't like it.

IIRC from a recent Which? survey, Canon and Epson are generally cheapest for original carts, with HP a bit more expensive, but it does vary from model to model.

Again from personal experience, if you don't print much it may be best to stick to original carts, as "compatibles" seem to dry up more quickly (or they did on my old Epson).

If you're going to go for cheap "compatible" carts, check out the Which? reports, as there is no simple rule for which make works best with which model.
  • for those who in the knows ;) .. what do you think of this one

  • I got a all in one printer just after new year from Sainsburys, its a HP F2280, was well under £40, i think it was half price down to about £25 and its brilliant - amazed how i managed without it.

  • One of the best all in one printer's is the Canon Pixma MP610. See PC Pro A List. They prefer this model to the new version the MP630. I've recently managed to pick one up for £85 brand new. Remember...you get what you pay for, its worth the extra in the long run.
