Old debt to Npower, can they disconnect me?

I was with NPower and had a long running argument with them surrounding HUGE bills at an old property and changed to BG when we moved into our new house in May 08, this took AGES, all down to NPower, and the swap was finally completed in Dec 08, and they issued their final bills. I went on a payment scheme with them at £30 a month for the gas and £30 for the electric. I paid the first month, but at end of Dec, my wages were underpaid by about £400, so I missed the Jan payment and I am now behind with all my commitments, most have been really understanding and have set me up on lowered payments, NPower on the other hand said tough luck you have broken the arrangement and they have passed my debt to a collections agency...BAST*RDS!! Anyway, can they disconnect my supply, as I am no longer with them as a supplier? The letters I have had from the collections people say they can?
CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

Phew, thats a relief. I suspected that they couldn't as I no longer have any dealings with them for my supply. Thanks for that, they must just be trying to scare me into paying them in full.
