How come you can only use your no claims bonus on one vehicle but if you claim or even have an accident in another persons vehicle, you have to declare it so they can increase the premium across the board.

Isnt that called having your cake and eating it (for the insurance companies)

Surely the NCB should either apply across all your vehicles or individually for discount and blame.

Is it just me ?

What you say makes sense.
The sevice is provided by profit making businesses and you could argue that it isn't strictly fair.

I could also argue that the NCB is a financial loyalty reward and claims are a representation or risk so you are comparing apples and oranges.

I think the former is true. It isn't totally fair, but businesses can set up their pricing model as they wish and award bonuses as they wish. Some even offer 1 years NCD for 8 months cover, or jsut award NCD as a sweetener, so it does not represent the real years, but just a financial incentive that companies use to get business.
