Having booked our hotel in Rome with expedia on Saturday, I just been told by Ryanair that our Thursday/Tuesday flights have been changed to Wednesdy/Wednesday.
Any chance to cancel booking for free(ish) given how short the time period since buying?

did the terms and conditions say
non changable non refundable?
is so, you can't change your booking or get it refunded.
however, if the terms and conditions when booking said you can get a refund, or make changes to your booking..
well. that means you can make changes or get a refund..
all rather simple really

From what I remember:
Expedia T&C differ from hotel to hotel and are set by the hotel, not Expedia.
You will need to login and select the hotel page again to see what their cancellation conditions are.
When we booked a string of hotels for a driving holiday in Canada last sumer, all of the hotels had different cancellation terms.
Some may charge the full booking
Some may charge the first night
Some may charge an increasing percentage the closer to the date you get
Some may charge a fee (say £10)
Some may cancel for free.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
