Repaying my credit card debt

So it's 2009 and the year I want to tackle my credit card debt. Currently I owe £7,500 on four different cards.
Virgin £2,927.63
Royal Bank of Scotland £2,008.99
HSBC £1,460.57
Barclaycard £1,025.94
TOTAL £7,423.13
I have no idea of the APR I'm paying on each card but will be phoning these companies in the morning to gather the details.
I am after some advice on how best to go about repaying as much (hopefully all) of this debt off as possible this year. Would I be best served phoning each company and asking if they would accommodate the other card debts on a lower APR, and what is the likelihood of them offering this?
Another option would be to take a personal loan out an cut up all cards. Or maybe just tackle the cards one by one and pay off as much as possible each month?

As long as your credit rating is intact I would go for a low rate loan over say 36 months, this would work out approx £200 per month for an average APR, so you could have the cards cleared in 3 years.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0
