i bought a potato bag from ebay its like the lakeland one....and it works. I notice they do banana ones too, anyone used one before?
I had one of the banana bags and it did work, though as they are meant to be kept in it in the fridge I found that a) it took up a lot of room in the fridge, and b) I don't like eating cold bananas, though of course you could take them out a couple of hours before you want to eat them, which of course I'd never remember to do. I also found that because the 'nanas were out of sight I'd forget they existed, and in the end they'd go mouldyAfter that had happened twice i binned the bag, which is basically 2 layers of nylon-type fabric with a layer of bubble-wrap in between.
I do have one of the Lakeland Potato bags and it works well - they do sprout after a while, but keep much better than in a plastic bag. (In France and Germany the supermarkets sell potatoes in string bags so they don't sweat. Why on earth can't we do it here)

Our tatties live in a think brown paper bag in the botton of the veg rack. We've got some from before Christmas and they are still fine. I don;t know how long they will potentially last for as they generally get eaten pdq in our house!Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it!'0
