Is a Certificate No-ones heard of worth doing?

I'm considering doing a 1-day Leadership course as i'm realising my extra curricular side since i have been attending a university course is empty and i have nothing to boast on my CV about for placement jobs.

Will anybody care about a Leadership College Certificate though?
Not exactly moneysaving i know, but its a jobfindingish query

Something you can get in a single day is not going to be worth much.

However, if you were to do this course, then put some of the ideas into practice and get a solid track record of exercising leadership in voluntary groups, you might strengthen your CV.

Agree with Voyager. I would recommend a course like this for someone in a junior leadership person, who has the skills, had the training and needs a boost. Not for a raw undergrad looking to beef up a CV.

Better to actually do something and gain some leadership or team working experience - either through a club or society, voluntary work or a part time job.

If it's not expensive it would do no harm and enhance your CV a bit and emphasise your willingness to invest in yourself.

I take the opportunity to do any courses I can. If it's something you're interested in, you have the time and it doesn't cost much go for it. It won't mean you suddenly get leadership jobs but it will give you some information about leadership which you can then go and put into practice by doing volunteer work or similar. Anything which will give you some more knowledge and thus the ability to answer questions in an interview has got to be good :)
I've got some random things in my CV (a smoking cessation adviser certificate is probably the most random) which haven't necessarily got me a job on the basis of the subject matter, but have proved to be useful in providing something to talk about in interviews :)
Try to get some volunteering experience, there's usually plenty of opportunities available, it doesn't have to be a long term thing, a lot of charities look for volunteers to staff one off events. Good luck, grab every opportunity you can get :)
