Thats the equivalent of Windows XP Professional I guess it depends on what "mix" of software programs and the number of programs you have on your computer because if you go to https://www.dell.com the main United States website they state that they have listened to your feedback (customers) and decided to offer a Windows XP Downgrade Option of course this was all put in flowery marketing language.

The reason Dell offered XP again was that business users with an installed XP base did not want the cost and other problems implicit with migrating to Vista, they took ages to convert to XP from NT4. The penetration of Vista is due to average Joe having Vista bundled on a new machine in PC World and knowing no different. Microsoft has tried very hard to kill off XP but realise that they can't yet.
Myself I prefer Ubuntu0 -
I have a vast range of software on mine, some purchased, some free, from sites such as Giveawayoftheday.com. Ah, I tell a lie, I've had 2 major problems, 1 I sorted out myself when I upgraded to Vista from XP (drivers for hard drive) and the other is still unresolved, but nothing serious. I can't re-install Creative Labs software on Vista. My suggestion and/or advice is my own and it is up to you if you follow it, please check the advice given before acting on it.0

Creative Xfi sound cards have had issues with Vista, so has Linux but Vista has had many general problems with drivers from day one. Game wise if you want DirectX 10 you will need Vista because Microsoft refuse to port it to XP0
