Slow PC / Internet (Hijack this log inside)

Hi

PC / internet si running slow and reguarly hangs, dont think much is wrong with ita s normally quite careefle but OH and kids also use it.

Notice in hijack this log several things have unkown owner / file missing. Any help is apreciated

    You could try Avira Antivir instead of Avast as it takes up less cpu http://www.filehippo.com/download_antivir/

    Anyway open hijackthis and press Do a system scan only. Then place a tick next to the following and press fix checked.

    After Download CCleaner http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ install and press run cleaner.

    Then download startuplite http://www.malwarebytes.org/startuplite.php open it and press continue. You can turn things you want to startup in the tray to no action but in most cases this is unnecessary and it will not remove main components like antivirus from startup.

    Theirs a issue with internet explorer at the moment think they will release a patch for it tomorrow to stop it from crashing. You could try Firefox instead http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ see if its any better. I can't see anything else wrong in the log zonealarm is quite a resource hog you may want to swap to pctools firewall http://www.pctools.com/firewall/

    Please follow this guide for combo fix make sure to disable Avast and ZoneAlarm as they may interfere with the scanning. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix

    If your using a router then reboot it.
    Sometimes when a router reboots, if the network is not busy, it will sync at a very high speed. Later when people come home and things start to get busy, a lot of noise is generated on the line. This causes problems with the data that is being passed between you and your ISP.

    If you reset the router, it will deal with this noise and sync at a more realistic speed. Your connection should fly again!
