Does Virgin+ go straight into a HD Ready TV?

If I buy a new TV that is "HD Ready" and upgrade my Virgin deal to include their XL package with the Virgin+ box, will this go straight into the TV for HD reception or do I still need to buy an HD box as well?

You need a virgin hd box with a HDMI lead:idea:0

the v+ box is a HD box and virgin will also supply a HDMI cable if you ask them but you can buy them anyway for about a tenner0

The V+ box is HD enabled and when we got ours fitted the engineer left us with an HDMI cable for future use.
However I dont think the HD content on the Virgin Package is that great.
Dont quote me on that as I dont have HD myself but just what I have been told by friends0 -
You get the BBC HD channel which doesn't have much on. There is some On Demand stuff in HD (films I think). They are supposed to be getting some Channel 4 HD stuff later this year.
V+ is great or the recording facilities but I wouldn't get it for the HD content.
The other thing is the upscaler int he V+box is superb, we get a tremendous picture on a HD ready plasms. Much better than the Freeview picure we get.
to be honest sitting a 'normal' distance from the TV I can't see much difference between upscaled SD and the same thing on HD.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
Sorry to ask another question but this is more complicated than I thought!!
I see the Virgin + box acts as a recorder but I don't suppose it will dub onto blank DVDs like my Sony DVD. So would I put the Sony Recorder between the V+ box and the HD Ready TV if I wanted to record onto DVDs? And would this affect the HD quality on the TV? Please excuse if it's a daft question!!0
