Makes me wonder how many people actually use the feature. Nearly every dvd player ive had has been region free
Yet ive never needed the feature! ALL my dvds are region 2 or region free anyways :p

I do, a few of my box sets are US only, (I have one thats a BBC made series but has never been released here, go figure!) as are some of the music DVD's I own. Mainly as they are such small groups it's not worth doing a US and UK release and I assume they can't get the rights released in the Euroipe so don't make them regions free. (Some are region free most R1). Notthat the region matter the TV and DVD don't care what the signal is they just play it happily..

What you really should wonder is why they bothered, It was borked weeks after it first came out anyway. Expensive DVD players are a PITA to make region free, but buy a £10 cheapie in asda or tesco and they frequently come region free as the factory never bothered to set them...
