With NAPSTER I don't understand how they can delete/disable tracks you have on a independent ipod (or 3) if you cease subscription0

Calling that a 'bad point' is something of an understatement, surely?
I really don't get this downloading nonsense at all. For example, I bought the last I Am Kloot CD 'Play Moolah Rouge' for £8.99. All nine songs in full CD quality, artwork and a Compact Disc I can play in my car or kitchen CD player. Oh, and it included a DVD with an hour-long documentary. To get the same album, with no artwork or DVD from Amazon downloads it would cost 79p per track = £7.11 and bear in mind this is for crappy, low quality MP3 files. If I want a CD to play in the car I have to make it myself, which the record industry will no doubt tell me is in violation of copyright anyway.
All for a saving of £1.88. I'll stick with buying CDs, thanks.
That's fine for a full album but if you just want one or two tracks then it's a good way to save money. At 256kbps the MP3 files you download are not "low quality" and most people can't tell the difference anyway, especially in the listening environments they are commonly used.0 -

Fair enough, but I'd rather start with the CD and create MP3s for listening to in the environments you describe (car etc.) rather than put up with listening to a CD created from 256Kbps MP3 files on my half-decent stereo at home.0 -

Quite harsh considering you can easily get the album art online. Additionally, MP3s aren't that bad, and new formats such as FLAC are becoming increasingly popular.0 -

Of course, but I don't see why I should do all the manufacturing side of things - finding artwork, printing it (I'd have to buy a colour printer first!) then cutting it out and burning a disc just to save £1.88. Each to their own I guess.0 -
You could try tescodirect.co.uk there are good too and cheap i think.Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.0

I just don't understand why people think they are entitled to something for nothing nowadays. If you're not willing to spend 30-70p on a song that you like, listen to the radio.0
