Laptop Disconnecting From Internet

I'm using a Toshiba Equibrium laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium.
Ever since I got it, I've noticed that every so often (about 10-15 minutes) it seems like it's resetting it's internet connection and so stopping all internet applications from running. Usually it takes a minute or two then it's back up but it's starting to be really annoying now.
I posted a few weeks ago about it happening on MSN during webcam conversations but I've realised it's throughout the laptop now.
We have another desktop computer with Windows XP and this never happens on there
Any advice?

Hello lufcgirl! we meet again

Are you connected via a wireless internet connection? If so it seems like the connection is dropping due to either signal strength or interference.
The other issue could be a driver related problem, so updating the network card driver may help. The best way to do this is to go to the toshiba site and find driver downloads for your model, and select wireless driver or something similar!
If this is over a wired network card, it may still be the driver.
Good luck!:) And try using the laptop next to the wireless router (if it is wireless) just to see if it is signal or interference.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Assuming your using it wirelessly ~
Try changing the 'channel' it uses
Or it could easily be the internal wireless card isnt upto scratch (Which is what my mates problem was). I bough him a USB dongle and it worked fine after that (Though I cant see it being that with it being a Toshiba):idea:0
