I use Loquax.co.uk for alot of competitions, however, the site has not been working for me for the past 3 weeks, saying that 'The administrator has banned your IP address', with no reason for doing so. Is anyone else having problems with the site?0

I used to, but now I stick to it here, as you maybe entering the same competition twice then getting disqualified from comp0 -
This should probably be in the comp discussions thread.

I use Loquax to look at the winners thread. I've not had any problems.
Why don't you Email and ask them what's going on , it could be a mistake

I used to use Loquax in my early day's of comping then I changed to uk.rec.competitions and then to www.theprizefinder.co.uk
then I discovered MSE and have not looked back since
MSE covers a broader spectrum of competitions and most of the comps posted include the competition answers something that you do not get with the aforemetioned competition sites
also MSE members warrn you of sites that promote spam and have privacy implications
some of the above competition sites actually promote the sites that send you spam and pass on your information to third parties
also the peeps at MSE are some of the most friendliest people online
therefore if you comp you must see MSE,

not sure if this is the correct place to post- appologies if wrong
But looking for a bit of advice...
last may I won a holiday to France for 2 weeks to be taken between Sept08 and June 2009, it was with a well know magazine, (I've won 2 other big prizes with them and had no problem in receiving them),
I've had a couple of letters from the magazine, one asking what dates I'd like etc and replied straight away etc, but havent heard anything else from them, I have telephoned the magazine a couple of times and they have chased the prize up for me and told me I'd hear from them within days, just a couple of weeks ago I was on the phone again and they said a letter would be sent out to me by recorded delivery with a choice of dates on- i've already done this, but still nothing- no letter-no recorded delivery
The thing is like I say I won the prize last May and still not REALLY heard anything about it, I should have been able to take the holiday anytime from sept 08,
also I have recently found out that I'm pregnant, might they substitute the prize or anything as I am going to need all the money I have spare to pay for baby etc.
So I am going to phone them again tomorrow and really I'm just looking for a bit of advice,
thank you in advance0 -
It's doubtful that they can substitute the prize as they would have negotiated the prize with a travel firm or tour operator, the best that they might be able to do is negotiate a longer window in which to take the holiday.
If you look at the terms and conditions of the competition it usually says something like "Prizes are non-transferable, non-negotiable and no cash alternatives will be offered " and I certainly doubt that prizes can be swapped for something else. That example is from More magazine, what magazine did you win from?We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0
