Replies to posts are always welcome, if they are done in the correct manner. If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -
arghhhh.... What is going on with all the bumping...
I know that some threads may have a few posts saying thanks or nice prize on them but often they will be in the first hours when its on the front page.
Its so annoying when someone else comes along days later and then decides they will comment as well - then when peeps get asked not to bump, there seem to be more posts saying, well how come some people can post thanks and others are not allowed bumping it back up again...
PLEASE, please stop posting on threads that are old, even if they already have posts on.My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly
Our Precious Baby Tianna has now joined our Family, she is much loved and very welcome, xxx0 -
To be fair, Velvet Glove's Guide is a bit ambiguous about bumping
"Please note: If you want to let yourself know that you have entered a comp or even thank the OP, press the ‘Thanks’ button, please don’t reply to the post "thanks" or "just entered" etc. This will bump the thread back to the top of the Forum which can result in other MSE Compers being over eager & entering a comp again without realizing that they already entered which can be quite frustrating as they can then potentially disqualify themselves. They will also waste time going into a thread again thinking that something in there has changed, again wasting valuable comping time! ‘Bumping’ is also against the Forum rules (which I asked you to read in the Introduction). Please don’t let that stop you from chatting on a comp thread, the banter helps to make this forum a fun place to be."0 -

Perhaps the comping guide should be edited a little then - I don't really see the effects of bumping as I comp by thread start time - but I do know it can be frustrating!! And reading some threads where a bumper has been asked not to bump, and then the person asking them not to bump, gets asked not to bump themselves - can make me laugh and cringe at the same time!! hehe!Made it - 15 years married!! Finally!! xx:beer:0 -
Is it time to re-evaluate the rule on comps that require a purchase?
Since the NPN route is no longer a legal requirement, shouldn't we allow these comps on the board? I mean, I understand those dodgy ones where you buy a £50 MP3 player to enter shouldn't be here... but how about things where you just have to buy a bar of choc or a packet of crisps?
What made me think of this was the recent Coachella comp by ASOS... if you were going to buy one of their t shirts anyway, why not buy it now with the chance of a trip to LA?Best wins: Luxury weekend in Russia, family holiday to France, catered BBQ for 20, Selfridges shopping spree, jolly to Majorca, £1,000 See Tickets vouchers, £500 John Lewis vouchers, five-star weekend in Provence!
