Hi, I am new to this so may I have some advice please. I posted a competition to win an iphone, with Gillette skincare. It had a reply, so it was posted ok, but now it has vanished. The reply pointed out an error I made, but I cant comment on it as post has gone!
Should I post it again, or will it turn up again.

Perhaps it had already been posted, there have been a few Gillette ones lately. It may have been merged with the previous posts.

    See Dalkirst's post below.

I removed it as the forum only allows comps that are free to enter or texts up to a maximum of £1.50 not comps where you actually have to buy something:)

Sorry to be a pain, I missed the deleted thread so I'm a bit confused now.

I thought some were ok, like with some of the grocery type comps I have seen, where you need to buy the goods to get a code? But not if we needed to pay an entry fee to be in the comp? Or have I understood it all wrong please?
My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly :)

I thought about that after I'd logged off so I came back to ask the same thing. How are Heinz, Coke and Lucozade, to name a few, any different?

I'm also a bit confused about the deleted comp. I entered the comp before reading that I should have a receipt. I don't plan on buying any Gillette skincare stuff, but if I win and have to produce receipt, I hope to pinch one from my Dad or brother or nip out and buy the stuff in question.

    What Martin says is

    2. Free Competitions Only. This is a not a place to advertise competitions you have to pay to enter. I will accept limited cost text message type competitons (though frankly they're usually naff apart from in special circumstances) where they cost up to £1.50 to text to enter, but generally I would say make sure they are free.

Thanks Lilias, I did find that, but it still doesn't explain why the others are considered okay. The rules are there to be followed, but it makes it difficult when some are allowed and some are not. You don't pay to enter any of the above as the cost is for the product, same as with the deleted Gillette comp.

Perhaps someone should pm Divadee for an opinion? She seems to be clarifying/updating the rules when needed
