REACT Funding (Wales only)

Just to let you know that from April 2011, ReAct is changing to ReAct2, and the grant is being cut down to £1500!!

As of April, the ReAct grant goes down to a maximum of £1500 under a scheme called ReAct 2.

I did a teaching training course called PTLLS with a company I now work for called ULearn College in Cardiff. I also did web design and Photoshop. I think ReActs great, it gives you opportunities to learn things you never would have had the opportunity to, and for me allowed me to see the positive side of my redundancy.

If anyone wants any advice on the ReAct funding, call 0845 519 4081 and ask for Dan.

I've found it next to useless....

I work in IT and there arent that many training providers in Wales. Consequently, all of those outside Wales arent interested in the slightest in getting paid afterwards by grant they all want payment up front.

Complete waste of time...

I'm currently working out my redundancy (last day in work May 31st). I contacted REACT on Friday and found the advisor was really helpful. I'm interested in doing a 5-day Adobe Masterclass, priced around £900 and he seemed to think both I and the course were eligible. I have to see a careers advisor first (organising that tomorrow) but it all sounds really positive. I'll update when I have more news.
