How safe is buying online?

Hi
I have just had a quote through the Post Office for both Car and House Insurance and they are both cheaper and I also get £100 in Postal orders- £50 cashback deal on each :j
However when I logged on the linemypocket site last night I noticed that if I went through the site, which I have used before and got paid out straight away, that I would save an extra £22.50 on each policy(their cashback offer).
So that would be another £45 in Cashback. The only think is i would have to pay online using my card- the only one i have which is Visa electron- and this is the one that all our monies goes in.
How safe do you think this is?I dont want to miss out on a good deal but always a bit wary of putting bank details etc on the computer.
Thanks for any advice
xx

  • i do everything online ... and have placed hundreds of orders using cards and never had a problem

the even better news ?? ... look at https://www.topcashback.com who pay out 100% of their affiliate income ... and post office insurance is £40 or£45 ? for each... home and car.

worth checking their other insurance deals as may make an overall better deal for you ... eg zurich £90 i think and lloyds tsb at £95 ... screentrade worth a try as it's a comparison site .. and £100 cashback on car.

    It should be .co.uk:

As for paying with your card online, you almost certainly wont suffer because of this. Even if you did, it is likely that your bank or credit card will offer some sort of protection against this kind of fraud. I have never been affected by it so don't know how easy it is to sort out if you have but I have also made hundreds of purchases online at nearly as mainly different outlets and never once had a problem.

Of course you will hear of some people being defrauded, but that is the same as using your card anywhere (your card could be photographed, it could be copied as it goes through an ATM, someone could watch you as you type in your PIN and then steal it from you, etc.)
