When should I receive redundancy pay?

Hi I was made redundant on 31st Dec last year, I got my normal pay on 23rd Dec and received my redundancy cheque today, I received a letter from the company telling me when I would get my payment ie within the first 10 days of January.0

I'm querying this too as I've been told I'll get my final pay 2 weeks after I leave, then won't receive my redundancy pay for another 4 weeks after that. Therefore I'm going to have 10 days pay at the end of April, and will have to survive on that for a further month. Surely this is an excessive time for the company to take to calculate my pay? I could do it on the back of a cigarette packet in 5 minutes (or I could if I smoked
)!
I suppose it will help my diet though as I won't have any money for food

I spoke to ACAS about this today. They told me you should be paid on your last day unless you and your employer mutually agree another date or if it says differently in your employer's handbook.0

Thanks, I will get in touch with ACAS next week then.0
