Looking to spend about £100 on beer/whisky, and about £1 on food per night.. Only joking :rotfl:
Roughly around £40 per person per night for hotel room(£80).
Don`t mind if room sleeps 2 or 10...
Living in Edinburgh, which hotel(s), do you recommend.
Where in the city, ie,street, would you start off from for a typical saturday night..

After looking at different hotels, hotel IBIS looks a good hotel, with good location, bar, etc...
Can anyone find me the best/cheapest price for 12 adults from fri 20 Feb for 2 nights.
Tried their website, but will only let me book max of 3 rooms...
Many Thanks

If you book 10 or more rooms together the hotel will class it as a group booking (as most hotels do) and it will be subject to contract and a deposit. Also, they may well impose a 7 day cancellation policy and you really don't need that.
I would strongly suggest that 4 of you book 3 rooms a piece using different credit cards and email addresses.0 -

I thought that booking 4 or 5 rooms together would maybe result in the rooms being a little bit cheaper?
Would it be best to call the reservation centre or the hotel direct.
thanks

I got an apartment via www.edlets.com. Put in the nights and the number of people and you will get emails with costs from lots of landlords. Some of them have more than one apartment in a block. I managed to get a huge apartment for 10 of us for £25 each for one night. Could have fitted a heck of a lot more of us in there!OD Girls On TourBarcelona 2008 - Dublin 20090

It's very rare that chain hotels will offer a reduced rate for less than 20 rooms and then, it would be subject to contract and a hefty deposit, but you can always give them a call and see what they say. Always phone the hotel direct and ask for 'inhouse reservations' before you call central res as inhouse, they may be able to ask their sales manager if they can offer a lower rate, but do beware of them mentioning a contract.I thought that booking 4 or 5 rooms together would maybe result in the rooms being a little bit cheaper?

With an Ibis, I would usually book online and also check if any websites are offering reductions, such as Laterooms, etc...
At the end of the day, you need to get confirmation references for each room booked and don't be tempted to rely on the name of the person you spoke to as guarantee (but always make a note of that too.) If inhouse res do offer you a rate, volunteer to email a guest list over to them (so that you don't tie them up on the phone for ages...it makes life easier for them and they tend to be kinder in return) and ask that they reply to your email with confirmation references as this is proof that the reservations are actually live on their computer system.
Oh! And if you want somewhere a bit classy to meet up before mayhem commences, this bar has recently been recommended to me by a mate who is at uni there (as a mature student)

Try doing a search on Laterooms.com and filter it for Edinburgh - it comes up with hotels/Guest houses as well as S/C apartments which might suit you as well.
As far as your pub crawls go, you could start on Rose Street which is behind Princes Street as there are lots of pubs there. Another option is the Grassmarket and the Cowgate - but it all depends what kind of pubs you like?0
