Judge - wot judge?

Hi everyone,

All over at 10.44am this morning. :j

Here is the blow by blow account.

My court runs an appointment system and I was booked for 10.00am.
At the court desk, bang on 10am, a clerk checked my papers (in front of people, wasn't too happy about that) for about 15mins. I swore my oath and paid the fees to which she said she couldn't understand why they charged so much seeing as we were in the S**t already!
I sat and waited amongst all the legal people and at 10.45 the same clerk came out and said all done - the judge didn't want to see me! Apparently the judge sitting today was a female District Judge with a No Nonsense attitude!
She asked me to wait while she rang the OR and typed up my BO. After a few minutes she took me to a little office where I spoke to someone from the OR office.
He asked me
-if my name and address were correct
-did I have any assets under threat immediately
-did I own a car and where was it
-the sum total of my debts
-details of my bank accounts - I had to ask him to free up the co-op account but he had asked me if my income went into either of them
- was I getting any creditor hassle
- any questions for him?
I just asked if I should pay an electricity bill that I am expecting shortly from my ex supplier (as of 8th Jan) and he said No - chuck it into the pot and not to pay anyone else either
He was efficient but nice too and told me that the examiner would study my forms and would be in touch in about a week to tell me if I would be interviewed or not and whether it would be by phone or in person.
He said to start getting my bank statements and other creditor statements that I may have, in preparation.
He did mention that it takes them about 8 weeks at the moment to inform creditors so he thought my idea of contacting them was a good one.
So that is it folks, I am so relieved and pleased that I have tackled my financial problems and this is a real solution.

Too right I am relieved.....
I stopped on the way home and got 10 copies of my BO and treated myself to a Danish pastry by way of a mini-celebration!
ym - It was a choice between a bottle of red wine and the Danish - are you impressed with my willpower?
Still on the wagon - 2 weeks now and not a drop!

SA that is brilliant news well done - bit off putting they did it in front of others tho!!! well all over chuck - I just had OR assistant on phone asking me the questions you mentioned above and the real OR will be phoning this week - think it will feel more real when have got that bit out of the way!

CONGRATS and v impressed that a drop of wine hasnt passed your lips ! I am having to detox now cos drank soooooooooo much last week!
