Can you please help?

All the icons eg word, internet explorer etc have gone missing from the bottom taskbar on my pc, I know its not essential to have them there as they are already on the desktop, but does anyone know how to put them back, in particular the internet explorer icon is very useful in this position. Thank you in advance.

Right click on the taskbar and select Toolbars > Quick Launch.

    Hi
This happened to me quite recently and I found it so frustrating! Being a complete novice I restored my computer to a previous date when I knew the task bar was there. I still don't know to this day why it disappeared but now it is back on:D
    I did this:-
    Through the All Programs menu:
    1.
    Click Start.
    2.
    Point to All Programs.
    3.
    Point to Accessories.
    4.
    Point to System Tools.
    5.
    Click System Restore.
    6.
    Follow the instructions.
I don't profess to know what I am talking about but this did work for me.
