Please help - IVA review

Hi there

I am hoping someone can help! we are due a IVA review soon and since we got the IVA our incomes have increased, I really don't want to have to pay in the extra as we are just about "making ends meet". Can someone post a list of all the I&E they look at and give me the maximum amounts I should claim, such as pets, hair, clothes, etc. Thanks so much.

    Does anyone know?
  • Travelling expenses, road tax, MOT, car insurance, glasses, dentists, prescriptions, rent, gas, elec, water, tv licence, land line, mobile, sky/virgin etc, do you take butties to work or do you buy your lunch there?

If you spend £30 per month on gas, tell your IP you spend 38. Similar with elec and so on and so on. They wont argue, but you have to justify the amounts - say you use more gas in the winter to keep the house warm.

I have my review every 6 months and my payments normally go up by about 10 or 20 quid per month.

If you income has incresed, then point out the amount of increased money that is needed for petrol, food etc.

there is a set amount I think per person for food etc, according to our IVA we are allowed £560 housekeeping for food and clothes per month for 2 adults and 2 children. We are also allowed £80 per month for a contingency fund. We have to send copies of utility bills/payments in along with P60s and wage slips for the last 3 months. The areas we tend to over estimate are petrol, car repairs, pet care and we never spend as much money on food as we are allowed but they dont ask for receipts.
I hope this helps, as has been said always over estimate whenever you can.

if this is a review then you will have trouble trying to include things that where not there in the first place, having said that when you send in your i & e form include a letter explaining your situation in the currant climate, many decent ip's are trying to be sensible and understand that the cost of living is spiralling out of control.

Thanks so much, this is a big help. I was speaking to my IP today and she also told me to put in the maximum for everything! So I will be doing that! Inclding cat food and pet insurance, I did not put any of that down last time, as well as glasses and contact lenses. I really don't want to pay in more as I really only making ends meet at the moment and then there are of course birthdays etc that you are not allowed to put down. How do you tell a 13 and 16 year old that you can't buy them a present! Another thing, at the moment we are paying interest only on our mortgage to reduce the amount, our mortgage payments haved now gone down due to the fact that the interest rates have been dropped, should we change to repayment?
