hijackthis has jammed up lol....

downloaded hijackthis yesterday on a forum users suggestion

went to use it again today and when i click to open it i get a pop up thats says "already in use"

cant seem to open it , also tried uninstalling from the control panel and got the same message

how can i sort this

If you go to Windows Task manager, ( press ctrl - alt del together) Highlight HJT in aplications and click End Task, That should stop it running. Alan.

As above, its running in the background, alternatively just reboot the machine

Did you download the standalone .exe? Try the installer from here http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/

i downloaded that from a link you posted yesterday...should i download it again ?

Yep download it again and try installing it.

right downloaded and when i hit the install button i get the same pop up that ive been getting saying its already running

hmmm strange rename the installer to something random like cheese. If its still not working download Malwarebytes http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php try to install it,update and run a quick scan and remove everything it finds.
