A huge thank you

I don't often post on the Disability forums but I do read them regularly. I applied for DLA in September and I have just got my award letter. High rate Mobility and Low rate care. I am thrilled, it has been a long haul for me to get this far.

I cannot thank enough the people that post on here who have given me hope and support....even though they didn't know they were doing it.

Just hearing about other people's struggles and reading the advice given has helped me enormously. Thank you all so much.

  • Congratulations!

Just the right time of year for some back pay...treat yourself! :T

Don't forget other things that you will be entitled to, such as blue parking disc and concessionary travel card.

It's always nice to hear some positives!

  • When I first got mine, it took such a weight of my shoulders so I know how you feel. Like others have said with HRM you can get a BB and also a Mobility car if you have 3 years or more.

I wish you all the best

I got High Rate Mobility and Low Rate Care but only for a year....in case I improve....but I've been like this for nearly 3 years. I've been pushed from pillar to post, not getting any answers. It was a chance conversation that prompted me to apply. All the professionals I saw thought I already knew about DLA, so they didn't think to tell me themselves.

But I've got there in the end, that is the main thing.

Thanks everybody for your good wishes and congratulations...I'm a bit chuffed :D
