Salou in Feb will be like a ghost town. If you can get flights to Murcia, Valencia or ideally Alicante then Benidorm is a bit more open.
Ryanair will fly you all into Valencia for 298GBP Mon 13 till Thurs16 feb

hire a car with www.carjet.com ford fusion 5 door 45GBP you will have to pay for a tank of fuel aprox 60€ and bring back empty.You will use 3/4 tank there and back anyway

hot that time of year ..the nearest would be the canaries and you won't get anywhere near that price as it wouldn't be standard flights for 4 days , it's not a low cost carrier destination and as you painfully know it's half term ....the weather around the med in feb carries no guarantees ...it could rain for the whole time you are there , as the previous poster said it will definitely be cold of a night and i'd expand on that by saying it's cool unless you are in direct sunlight. i've also been and it's been pleasant for a whole week during the day ....sorry no guarantees what you'll get. the further south in spain you get i think you have a better chance of a higher temperature in the winter

This isn't half term week where I am in the North East so it may be worthwhile looking at flights from different airports as you may find it cheaper in areas where it isn't half term.

tried that before but they seem to have it all covered from most airports.. even tried it from scotland in the summer time as they have different summer hols but no cheap hols to be had

and they dont get any cheaper as they get older.. mine is 11 and this is the last yr we can class her as a child from the age of 12 she will be classed as a adult when booking hols..
