I heard the pound shop had a half price sale before it shut down but the queues at the checkouts were horrendous because it was confusing the hell out of the staff. The Early bird may catch the worm ...but its the second mouse that gets all the cheese!0

The £1 shop in our town, Pound Plaza, closed 18 months ago...really miss it for some items. There isn't another pound shop - hoping that one of them takes on the empty Woolies unit....0

Our 99p shop closed, and we don't even have a pound shop. Now we don't have a Woolies either. Where am I going to get my tat now?
I did like the 99p shop for the Astonish paste though. Can't get it anywhere now. Great for cleaning your ceramic hob.
You can get it from betterware or maybe it's kleeneze...one of those catalogues that come through your door. I think they both have websites.
Much more than a pound though, think it was abput £3.99 last time I bought it.0 -
there used to be a 98p shop in coventry but it shut there is still a £1 shop and a 99 p shop so price isnt always the driver0

They've just opened up a Poundland in wembley and it's great.
I can't believe the stuff in there.
But, across the road there's a Poundstore which has been selling tat (worth 50p if you ask me) which is now empty.
I give it six months.Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

We haven't got a pound/99p or any 'cheap' shop, haven't got a woolies now either.
The only cheaper shops are the charity shops, and I've never found anything in there under £3

I know I can get it there. Much prefer having to just pay 99p for it though.

Core blimey! if you call 'across the street' overwhelming competition, come to Reading! We have a Poundland and a (much larger) 99p stores LITERALLY next to each other. On one side of the wall, you will find 99p bargains, whereas on the other side of the same wall, you will find £1 bargains! Although the poundland is quite small compared to the 99p stores, There is another poundland the other side of the town centre. Its great! Check the picture out...
