:eek:.....It's been ages since I posted........sorry everyone.......a few family issues over the last two weeks, had sent me back to duvet land over Easter .....so I'm starting again today with baby steps.........

Made bread, hung out washing, chased up bridge engineers, started the assesment that should have been finished before Easter

    The good news.........

This afternoon (after chasing them AGAIN  :wall: :wall:) the insurance company finally agreed to settle my contents claim. :j:j:j

The loss adjuster had counter-offered £26k before Easter against my offer to settle at £28k ....which I had refused....

and now the insurance company have decided to over-ride both of us.......and offered a higher settlement figure of £28.5K!!:confused::confused::confused:..................:dance::dance:. I've already had interim payments of 18k (had to buy all the white goods/carpets/furniture etc)......so they're putting the final 10.5k into my bank tomorrow. :T:TYippee......I can now afford to get the new builders in to do (some) of the work....but not all of it. Will concentrate mainly on fixing the leak in the lounge from the outside render; stripping out and redoing most of the kitchen/utility (especially the floors) and realying the dining room floor. Cloakroom and hall strip out will have to wait.

Still have the rest of the claim left to sort.... (no final response received)which is all the stuff on consequential financial losses (£60k) ......so it's now off to the Ombudsman........
