Power usage of an electric oven?

Does anyone know what approx power usage a normal small electric fan oven would use per hour? Say at a temp of 200c.

Depends on the make...ours is an electrolux and uses 900Watt in an hour. If you know the manufacturer and model try googling it.
  • Its an AEG Competence E2190-1. I can't find anything at all on it :(

It's an old model (probably put in about 4yrs ago). Looking at the AEG site though, and their current models. They all seem to be approx 800w with fan on. So, given that it's older, and probably less efficient lets say it's 1.5kw. Does that sound about right?

I got myself one of these http://www.lakeland.co.uk/remoska I thought the outlay was a bit steep, having said that I've saved a lot on my electric bill as I only put the main oven on once a week, my electric is down to round the £40 a month mark

900W to 1.5kWh sounds about right - I think the average I found was ages ago was 1.2kWh. But this was quite an old test (and I can't remember it's name). Note that this is for a cold to one hour at 200C test so a more typical 20 min to 30 min session might be only two thirds of this or less (but with initial heating from cold obviously not one third).

(Note that, of course, the wattage of the heating element isn't important - these are typically 2.8 to 3.5 kWh)
