confused:- named driver years

Hi,
I'm asking a question for a friend. He used confused to get his car insurance the last two years and he is convinced that in the NCB option you could previously list the years you have been a named driver with NC but the site seems to have been revamped and not allow this option thus his quotes are much higher than he has paid the last two years because he cannot enter this detail.
He wants to know the best way to proceed. It is a case of check via phone who accepts named driver years rather than use confused. Anyone know who does this? The only one that I know does it is Quinn which is his current insurer.
Thanks.

I may be wrong, but AFAIK only the insurer you are currently with, as a named driver, will recognise the "named driver" NCD, and only if they themselves operate that policy - which only a few do.
That would explain why confused.com does not take account of it - because no insurer you choose through them will recognise the NCD. (And confused.com do not quote for Direct Line who are the main insurer doing the "named driver NCD" thing).0 -
Thanks Mark,
He is convinced it was once an option on the confused site and that is how he got the Quinn insurance. They accepted 9 years named driving no claims if he got letters from previous insurers to prove it, which he did hence the big reduction.
Maybe best to renew on this occasion.0 -
Maybe Quinn are no longer on confused.com either, so the option has become irrelevant?0
