Ending Contracts and DA

Just seen the above group on facebook about being charged for ending contracts when moving due to a posting any thoughts on this?

Not sure what the amount for singlies DA is but I doubt its enough to cover moving to Germany forinstance and having tocancel contracts such as phone, car etc.

Never gave it much thought until I saw the group tbh.

Its interesting to see who does

When I moved to Germany many years ago BT let me go without any hassle (my address was a give away that I was in the forces)

IMO its something that should be written into those sort of contracts seeing as you're being moved by the MOD (Gov) you shouldn't be charged for it.

But then again you could argue that the allowance you get for moving (disturbance) is for that reason.....many people forget that.

Dont get me started, i know loads of people who get their DA, spend it on themselves as in clothes, shoes etc and then get themselves into debt (if they are not already in it) by not paying off contracts and other bits and bobs etc.

Mine will probably go to paying things off, new furniture or savings :j

What gets me mad is when you have to pay the connection fee for the telephone. Not everyone has to do this if the quarter has not been vacant for too long. But we are always unlucky and end up getting the quarter that has been stood empty for ages and the phone line has been disconnected.
