System Restore I cant restore or create a restore

I cant do a system restore theres no restore points to go to plus if i go to create a restore point it says system restore is not able to create a restore point please restart the computer then run system restore again (which i have done but it just comes up again saying to restart the computer) any ideas thanks in advance

    had the same thing recently, all I could do was turn it off to flush the corrupt ones, then start afresh

    might be time to try downloading, updating and running a full Malwarebytes scan, to see if there's anything on there which may be preventing it..and then a HiJack This run and post both logs....

    but before you do this, go to my computer, HDD and right-click, properties, disk cleanup, let it search and then click the more options tab, select to clean up the old system restore points, and ok through and let it clean them all out....in case there's any nasties hiding in old restore points...

    Have u tried running SR in Safe Mode??

    I had this problem when my pc was infected: The malware basically removed the option for system restore.

    As mentioned, a full malware sweep using several programs may be necessary, this worked on mine.
