Quidco Question - EON

Hi All,

My girlfirends just moved into her new house, and found out that EON were the gas and electric suppliers of the previous owners. Having looked on Quidco, it says New Customers to EON would get £70 for a dual fuel switch, the problem is it wouldnt be a switch, but it would be a new customer. IS it likely she would get the Quidco cashback if she signed up online?

Not sure if this might be better in the quidco forum maybe?

She wouldn't be a new customer under the traditional definition. The second she moved in and started using energy she accepted a 'deemed contract' which you are only obliged to remain in for a month.

so i assume she would be able to stay with them for the month, then jump ship to a better provider and take advantage of any quidco offerings that there may be...

Exactly! I did when I moved in here and found out I was being fleeced by NPower.

Don't get caught in the trap of thinking the supplier that offers the biggest backhander is the best provider.

Unless you plan to be a continual switcher and are prepared to put the hours in to iron out any problems that may occur with each and every switch, then you should base the decision on the cost and level of customer support that a supplier provides ... in whichever proportions you feel are most appropriate to you.
